Disney as conceived by Walt Disney was to be an institution for sweet dreams and fairy tales with happy endings. The world simply cannot accept Disney to be associated with the cruelty of the trade, the inhumanity of chopping off the fins of live sharks and throwing the sharks back to the sea to die.

Fuelled by the success in getting Disney on side, it is now pertinent for all concerned to continue the pursuit of reducing the demand for shark fins at all Chinese restaurants – this may just be the beginning of the end for the shark fin trade. With the resources of OceanNEnvironment and ASIAN Geographic, we plan to recruit 10,000 young Ambassadors for sharks by July 2007. We hope to develop alliances with Ocean Park, Hong Kong Disneyland and other like-minded institutions and individuals to achieve the greater objective.
