Our Society Statement
Mission

Our mission is to conserve Asia’s natural heritage, spread geographic knowledge and inspire people to protect our planet.

Objectives

As a Geographical Society, we believe that future generations can only thrive and embrace Asia’s beauty when we do our part to conserve the living heritage and educate societies about conscious living on this planet.

The Society will:

  1. Support enterprising individuals in exploration, research and conservation efforts in Asia. This includes both current projects and new discoveries.
  2. Conserve Asia’s beauty – from monuments, costumes, traditions to even indigenous language – supporting human well-being, diversity and other preservation efforts.
  3. Save species in Asia that are endangered or are on the brink of extinction so as to contribute to the vital balance of the ecosystems.
  4. Empower communities to cultivate good habits for a liveable planet. This comprises building a shared mindset in government, development institutions, corporations and partner organisations for strategic operations and programmes.
  5. Develop innovative events, exhibitions, campaigns to address social, environment and wildlife issues.
Values

As we work toward securing a healthy planet for today and the future, we are guided by these fundamental values:

  • We are optimistic that life on Earth can be preserved and our efforts are never of a lost cause
  • We make decisions with integrity and take responsibility for all actions
  • We have the courage to take bold action on causes we strongly believe in
  • We respect and embrace the diversity of all culture and beliefs
