Are you a passionate photographer, looking for a good cause? … AGS is asking for photo submissions for a new project that will raise funds for good causes! So dust off your camera and get snapping!
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Philanthropic Photo-Book Project
AGS is launching a series of photo-books with different themes and different causes.
The photo-books will be compiled using submissions from the public, opening the opportunity up to everyone; from new budding photographers – keen to see their images in print, to professionals – keen to support and give back.
The photo-books will be available online at the ASIAN Geographic eShop and all profits will go directly to the dedicated cause for each book.
How Can you Help?
By supporting each book in the series – by offering images that fit the theme or buying the whole collection book by book – you’ll be making a difference to a range of worthwhile projects!
More details on the various causes supported by the proceeds of the individual photo-books will be added online soon, so you can find out more about the people, places or animals you’ll be helping.
The Collection (so far):
- Humanitarian Imagery (Dual-Hues), dedicated to educational activities
- Asian Heritage at Risk (Memories and Images for Posterity), dedicated to humanitarian goals
- Endangered Asian Wildlife, dedicated to wildlife conservation

REWARDS:

Plus the entry selected for the front cover or opening shot will also receive a special gift of appreciation!
IMAGES REQUESTED:
With an eye ahead to ASIAN Geographic magazine’s dual hues themed issue (February 2011) we are calling for BLACK & WHITE photographs that feature just ONE other colour.
We’re looking for humanitarian images, so featuring people or a person – ideally with an inspirational message or impact.
- This photo-book will be supporting education, specifically the DoorStep School which educates kids in India, so the images should be a collection that celebrates our humanity – in the best sense of the word; kindness, empathy, graciousness – and reinforces hope for the future.
- Maybe you catch sight of two people laughing or sharing a secret, or someone smiling to themselves as they walk, or people at a park enjoying the beauty of nature.
SO… what do you think best represents our humanity? Can you capture that image using a B&W photo with just ONE other colour?
NEXT STEPS:
Submit your images today, then look out for the final book in the eShop and collect the whole series for yourself or as a beautiful and inspiring gift!
